Depression is normally an emotional phenomenon and it should be differentiated from depression as a disorder. Depressive disorder not only includes dull/sad moods, but it also involves a lack of interest as well as a negative thoughts.

Facing occasional anxiety is a normal part of human life. However, people experiencing anxiety disorders regularly have intense, excessive and persistent worry and fear about everyday situations. Anxiety disorders generally involve repeated episodes of sudden feelings of intense anxiety and fear or terror that reach a peak within minutes (panic attacks).

Substance induced disorders are conditions that are caused by substance use. They are different from dual diagnosis or co-occurring substance. In this disorders the mental impairment is not present in conjunction with a substance use disorder, but is instead directly caused by the substance use itself.

This type of mental disorder is generally characterized by a combination of abnormal thoughts, behaviour, perceptions, emotions, and relationships with others. Combinations of mental disorders include bipolar, depression, disorder, schizophrenia and other psychoses, dementia, and developmental disorders including autism.
